England Rugby’s mascot Pete Cross this weekend endorsed Devon's Rugby’s attempt to raise money for Exeter based charity Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) and Rugby’s own charity Woodenspoon.
On the evening of Friday the 3rd Feb 2012, Exeter based Wessex RFC President and Devon Rugby Society Referee Nigel “Isambard” Gooding will be setting off with a co-pilot Jenna “Hackers” Hackworthy for the overnight Plymouth to Roscoff ferry starting the 2500 miles round trip.
The aim of the trip is to drive Myrtle, Nigel’s classic mini from the Poachers Inn in Ide to Rome and back supporting England Rugby in their Six Nations match with Italy whilst raising money.
Nigel nicknamed Wing Commander Isambard said today “Pete Cross is a English Rugby legend and we are supporting two great causes and having a lot of fun... local businesses have sponsored Myrtle including servicing, accommodation and ferry crossings so 100% of the cash raised will go to the two great charities.. we still have some corporate sponsor opportunities available and logo space on Myrtle...and of course the text donation service and the just giving pages.
Myrtle leaves the Poachers Inn, Ide, EX2 9RW at 1915 on Friday 3rd Feb 2012 all are welcome.
